We started our 100KM football ground challenge on Boxing Day 2021 at the only place we could – our happy place – Turf Moor, home of Burnley FC.
Due to COVID regulations, we had to complete it before the scheduled game (which was later called off). BBC Breakfast also wanted to cover it live so it was an early start. We don’t know how, but we managed to persuade fellow Burnley lad and BFC fan, Jordan North to meet us at the Turf at 7:30 am!
The team at Burnley FC opened up the ground, especially for us. We were met with our names going around the LED advertising boards in the darkness of the early morning which was just amazing!
We completed our first 1KM pitch run with Jordan and then went for a really good breakfast later!
