In May 2021 Hughie and Freddie were awarded the Pride Of Manchester, Young Fundraisers award. The boys were surprised by Dan Walker at Media City on Hughie’s 11th birthday. Thinking they were doing some filming for TV the boys were gobsmacked when Dan showed up with their award and birthday cake! They were rewarded with a lovely lunch and then bumped into Richie Driss on his way into work at Blue Peter who awarded them a Blue Peter badge after hearing about their morning.
The awards were held at The Midland Hotel in May, in the middle of lockdown. Because of this, we didn’t have the ceremony but were still treated to a really special afternoon.
