We visited the King Power Stadium on 1 May 2023 to raise money for the children on the oncology ward at Leicester Children’s Hospital and what an incredible time we had. The money raised here is, to date, a record at any of the grounds we’ve visited so far. We are just short of £5000 which is gobsmacking! The fans of Leicester City FC are so incredibly generous and the team (shout out to Mike!) at the football club and the hospital charity team (especially Sunita and Lydia) pulled out all the stops to make sure we raised the phenomenal amount of money. We were truly spoiled and looked after by everyone and loved meeting the legends hosting the corporate areas we visited and the mascots Philbert and Dr Fox. It was also brilliant to catch up with Ady from BBC Radio Leicester who we did an interview with earlier in the week. Unfortunately, the draw wasn’t the result hoped for but we had an amazing time and it was a great match to watch. The day was topped with a stay at the beautiful Gresham Hotel which was kindly donated to us so we didn’t have to drive home after the game. A truly brilliant experience for us, a wonderful amount of money raised for children fighting cancer at Leicester hospital and a heap of gratitude to the fans, the team at the Leicester City and charity team who helped us.
