We were honoured to be invited to the Palace of Westminster to be awarded a British Citizen youth Award. Now in its eighth year, the BCyA’s are given to young people who make a difference to society and the community and recognises exceptional endeavours from Britain’s youngsters. We were amongst 25 recipients and we were awarded it for our fundraising.
We were given our medals by Kimberly Wyatt from the Pussycat Dolls who was really nice and Tom Redman from Big Bus London who gave us a tour of London on an open-top bus after the ceremony.
We had a brilliant day, meeting all the other inspirational children who were also awarded and the presenters and other guests. It was also the day Liz Truss resigned as Prime Minister so it was all a bit crazy as we left but made the day even more memorable. Thank you to the sponsors Specsavers and everyone at the awards for such an amazing day and for choosing us for the award.
